October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I'm sure we've all being seeing all of the pink ribbons in support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I even noticed that there were pink ribbons on the goal posts during one of the football games that we watched this weekend. Locally, we have a city that "Paints the town pink" by putting up pink light bulbs in all of the city lights on the main street. Do you know of anyone who has been affected by Breast Cancer? I was not aware of all the support that is actually out there. I recently received a great assignment from MyBlogSpark to talk about a Myspace page called Pink Together. This amazing page is dedicated to the amazing women who have been affected by this terrible disease as well as their families. This is a national campaign to help connect anyone touched by breast cancer. With this page, you can make new friends, share your story, or simply send encouragement to survivors. General Mills is graciously donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and is turning the packaging pink next month on an assortment of its most beloved brands. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on PinkTogether.com in October. So, please go to the website and leave a comment of encouragement and then copy your comment here in this blog. Everyone who does that will be entered into a contest to win an Inspiring Hope gift basket that includes a sleeved travel mug, a running ribbon charm bracelet, a pink leather strap keychain, a pink cinch bag, and a set of inspirational note cards. All of the gift basket items are from ShopKomen.com, where 25 percent of the merchandise purchase price benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight against breast cancer. As an additional entry, you can share a story about an inspiring woman in your life. On November 1st, I will randomly draw a winner and post it here. Can't wait to hear all of your comments.

I am a big supporter of breast cancer awareness. And I absolutely love each October when companies come out with the items to help support the Komen foundation. I also go to the breast cancer awareness daily, to help fund free mammograms.
