Artisan Marshmallows from 240Sweet.com

One word came to mind when I first took a bite of the Chocolate Chip Artisan Marshmallows that were sent to me by Sam at 240Sweet.com. Yummy!!! Sam and I went to high school and reconnected over facebook awhile back so she sent me some marshmallows to review. When I opened the box, I couldn't help but tear right into them. She sent me the Chocolate Chip, Lemonade and Salty Caramel. Obviously my favorite was the Chocolate Chip because you all know of my love of anything chocolate but coming in at a very close second were the Salty Caramel. I love anything that can satisfy my salt and sweet craving all at once and these did the trick. The first Chocolate Chip and the Salty Caramel I simply ate alone as a little treat, but with the last two Chocolate Chip I decided to split them up into a couple of cups of hot chocolate for me and some of my staff. Delicious!!! After taking a look at the website, Sam and Alexa also recommend creating homemade s'mores by putting them in the microwave for a few seconds.

They also have a variety of other flavors including Chai Spice(I love Chai Tea, so I bet I would love this), Coffee, and Peppermint which I think would be great in a hot cup of coffee during the holiday. All of these delicious Artisan Marshmallows are lovingly created by Chef Alexa Lemley of Lemley's Catering. Both Alexa and Sam seem to be very involved in community events in Columbus, Indiana and the surrounding area. I actually worked at the Holiday Inn in Columbus, Indiana for quite awhile before moving to Florida. Too bad I didn't know about 240Sweet.com back then. :)

Sam, thanks for sending the marshmallows they were delicious!!

Relax

As you know, this blog is called SunEGrl Loves To Shop, so last Sunday I went shopping with some of the girlfriends and as we were going through the mall I noticed those big comfy looking massage chairs that you have to pay for. We had been shopping all day and as we passed by I noticed that almost every one of them was occupied by men who were waiting on their wives or girlfriends or kids who must have just thought that they were kind of cool. We had been shopping for awhile, and I actually considered sitting down in one myself to try it out. They looked terribly comfortable and I thought to myself how great it would be to have one in my home. Forget the LazyBoy, a massage chair is even better. That's half the fun of getting a pedicure which I need to try to do tomorrow after work. Human Touch massage chairs mimic the techniques used by massage professionals. They even have handheld massagers, foot and calf machines which would be great for those long days at work and a full line of relaxation furniture.

Weight Loss Products

Have you ever thought about how much money you've spent over the years on weight loss products. Whether it's exercise equipment, diet food such as weight loss shakes or protein bars it can really add up. It scares me to think how much I've spent in the last 20 years and still to this day still have so much to lose. Even worse, I still spend money on it. I regularly buy weight loss shakes because of the convenience factor. Not only that, I still find myself fascinated at times by the latest weight loss gadgets such as the newest exercise machines. What is it that does that to people? I sure can't figure it out. I guess I just need to stick to healthy eating and working out.

Natural Flea Control

As you know my cat Makenzee is 13 years old and is starting to have some health problems. Over the last couple of years, most of the problems have been from either his sensitive stomach or the onset of kidney disease but when I lived in Port Orange we had a constant battle with fleas. I don't really know why, but every year we had a battle on our hands so I would have to fight with him to give him a treatment every month and half the time it didn't really work and we would end up with fleas in the house. I think that I was dragging them in as I walked to the house. He's an inside cat so he never went outside. The other battle that I had was that there was carpet throughout the house which made flea control even more difficult. Recently, I ran across a site that focuses on natural flea extermination. I was so happy to find this site because a couple of years ago Makenzee had such a bad reaction to a flea treatment that it was almost like he had a blood clot or something in his legs. He literally would try to walk and his legs just wouldn't work. I took him to the vet, and the vet told me that some cats have a reaction to certain chemicals in the treatments and he recommended that I try Capstar and Revolution. Since putting Makenzee on those two things we haven't had any problems. When I found that I could practice natural flea control and not only save money but make Makenzee flea free, I was a happy girl. We do still use Revolution, but just as a precaution. Luckily, since moving to Orange City we have been flea free in part due to the fact that I have no carpet in my entire house. Love tile floors. :)

Cleaning my office

I've become a believer in certain feng shui beliefs such as those that clearing out clutter allows you to bring more in, so I'm officially going to begin cleaning out the clutter in my life starting with my computer room. I feel like the clutter is holding me back and I'm ready to move on. Remember, my goal is to have a 2010 Mustang within the next year so I better get a move on. I think that the better the energy is in my computer room, the more time I will be able to devote to growing and improving this blog simply because I will want to spend more time in here. My next project will be cleaning out my spare bedroom and organizing the closet. The trash men are going to hate me by weeks end.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I'm sure we've all being seeing all of the pink ribbons in support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I even noticed that there were pink ribbons on the goal posts during one of the football games that we watched this weekend. Locally, we have a city that "Paints the town pink" by putting up pink light bulbs in all of the city lights on the main street. Do you know of anyone who has been affected by Breast Cancer? I was not aware of all the support that is actually out there. I recently received a great assignment from MyBlogSpark to talk about a Myspace page called Pink Together. This amazing page is dedicated to the amazing women who have been affected by this terrible disease as well as their families. This is a national campaign to help connect anyone touched by breast cancer. With this page, you can make new friends, share your story, or simply send encouragement to survivors. General Mills is graciously donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and is turning the packaging pink next month on an assortment of its most beloved brands. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on PinkTogether.com in October. So, please go to the website and leave a comment of encouragement and then copy your comment here in this blog. Everyone who does that will be entered into a contest to win an Inspiring Hope gift basket that includes a sleeved travel mug, a running ribbon charm bracelet, a pink leather strap keychain, a pink cinch bag, and a set of inspirational note cards. All of the gift basket items are from ShopKomen.com, where 25 percent of the merchandise purchase price benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight against breast cancer. As an additional entry, you can share a story about an inspiring woman in your life. On November 1st, I will randomly draw a winner and post it here. Can't wait to hear all of your comments.

October has been a busy month

So far this has been a crazy busy month. I returned from my cruise on 10/5, then partied til the wee hours of the morning for the Libra Birthday Weekend on 10/8-10/11, then got so sick that I couldn't talk and was running a fever of 103, and now here we are and it's the 20th of the month. Just two short months and we will be into the height of the Christmas Season. While my weight loss has not been going well, I have recently begun dating someone so I've been staying busy with that as well. He's a very nice guy and I've been trying to spend as much time with him as I can. I have been on a weight loss plateau for about 2 months now and I'm ready to kick things up a notch so that I can wear something cute during the Christmas season. Is it too much to hope to lose 20 pounds by Christmas? I don't know, if I get back into my exercise regimen I think I can do it. Plus, I have to stop going out to dinner so much. Love going out, but hate what the calories are doing to my weight loss plan. So, what are your goals for the upcoming Holiday months? Would love to hear from some of you.

What on earth is a Job Design Body Kit?

I recently heard the term Job Design Body Kit and I had absolutely no idea what that meant. Did it have something to do with body sculpting or liposuction or was it a fabulous new exercise plan like P90x? So, I looked it up on the internet and "Job Design" is a manufacturer of after market Lexus body parts. They also offer parts for Mercedes, Infinity and Chrysler vehicles. The coolest part of all of this is their Hybrid series that allows you to reduce your carbon footprint by modifying your Lexus LS460 and LS600 Hybrid vehicles. By using a job design body kit, you can transform your factory Lexus into a stylish original automobile. I love sporty new look. Now, while this is something that the average person might not be interested, I think the possibility of changing your vehicle into a stylish masterpiece is exciting to say the least. Just take a look at this beautiful Mercedes with a completion series body design kit.

Since one of my dream cars is the Lexus RS350, I would love to see one of them with the lead series installed because apparently it can put the "sport" in sport utility vehicle.

Affordable Web Hosting

Lately, I've noticed that more and more people are either building their own websites or blog or paying to have one built for them. When I first started out, I did buy a couple of premade websites and then I paid to host them with the company that I purchased them from. This is not a good idea! I was paying for the website and then paying upwards of $14.95 for a simple website when I could have been getting for around $10.00. I know that doesn't sound like a huge savings, but you when you figure that I was paying to host multiple websites for that amount every month, it certainly began to add up. After a few months, I realized that those websites were never going to take me where I needed to go so I abandoned them and the pricey hosting. I've often wondered what happens to those websites that have been abandoned, but I've never looked into it further. My recommendation for anyone looking to get started is to start simple with a drag and drop web page designer and hosting through a reputable company. Companies like yahoo and go daddy, can't be beat for pricing and service.

Ceiling Fans can save you money

I know we've all heard before that ceiling fans can actually save you money because they help your A/C or Furnace work with the best efficiency and can actually lower your electric bill by not causing the A/C or Furnace to work so hard. I recently started using my ceiling fan more often because I noticed that my power bill had gone up and I wanted to try to get it back down to a normal level. With two months of using the ceiling fan when I'm home, my power bill went down about $15.00/month. That's not bad considering it was the only change that I made. So, I was looking online because I need to replace one of my fans and I found the Minka Aire Concept II fan. It's awesome, beautiful and affordable. It's available in a 44" and 52" model, the fan features 3 concave blades set at a 14° pitch to offer efficient air distribution. The fan is available in many finishes including white, brushed nickel, maple, mahogany, and oil rubbed bronze. I personally love the white because it would match my house better than most, but I also really liked the bronze. This fan also comes with a remote control so that it can be operated from anywhere in the room. How cool is that? Check it out!!

Febreeze Home Scents

Last week, I got a sample pack from MyBlogSpark with an assortment of Febreeze Home Collection premium scents. I received a Flameless Luminary, a Soy Blend Candle, a Scented Reed Diffuser, and a Room Spray. I opened everything up on Sunday afternoon and by last night my house smelled awesome. As you know, I have a cat so I put the Reed Diffuser in the Laundry room where his litter box and it completely freshened up the room and smells awesome. I also used the candle on my desk to help me relax. It has a wonderfully calm smell of Green Tea and Citrus. I think these great scents can be used in a variety of ways, and I would like to find out from you how you would use them. As an incentive to hear from you, I'm offering a $20.00 Wal*Mart Gift Card to the person who comes up with the most creative use for Febreeze Home Collection. I will pick 3 people based on your responses, and then you the readers will vote for the best overall. So, let's hear from you. How would you use Febreeze Home Collection? This contest is open to US Bloggers, Facebook friends and anyone else who stumbles upon this post. Good Luck, contest ends October 15th at midnight.
