Alzheimers Association Memory Walk

The Alzheimer's Association is doing an Alzheimer's Memory Walk in the fall and they are looking for volunteers to become team captains. Maybe a family member or friend has suffered through the stages of Alzheimer's, or perhaps you know someone who is watching their family or friend go through this. If you do, I would like to invite you to consider becoming a team captain so that you can participate in an upcoming walk. The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. This walk of all ages encourages volunteers to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. There are walks in more than 600 communities and you can search to find the one nearest your home when you go to the site. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.

I participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night, and I can tell you that doing something like this is something that you will never forget. As the Captain of the team for the hotel, I can tell you that last year only a few people signed up to do the walk with me. Now that they all know what to expect, my sign up is much larger so that just means that we will have more fun.

If you decide to volunteer to be a captain, I will tell you that not only will you be having fun and making new friends but most importantly you will be supporting a great cause.

Thanks for posting this. My mom has alzheimer's - I do not wish this on anyone nor their families. I cannot begin to tell you how much it means to know people are not alone in this. Thanks again. I hope you have a great trip to Indiana. I learned about your blog from Cre8passion.
