I loved this book and thought it was a great book to read with my little one. She loved the brightly colored monster and the story was great. It even kept my 10 year old interested! Just goes to show that while something may look better on the surface, it doesn't always mean that it is. :)
Definitely a little more for 2 to 6 year old age range, but good for other kids as well.
