Lots of things going on lately...

Sorry for lack of posts lately, but I was sick the first part of the week and then I had to take Makenzee to the vet again on Wednesday. When I woke up that morning, I found that he had thrown up blood in the middle of the night so I was worried sick. I took him to the vet, and Dr. Orr said that it was probably an ulcer related to the suspected kidney disease. He advised me to get him some Pepcid AC and give him some of that each day. I didn't notice anything funny last night, but this morning he did not eat his food. When I came home to get ready for the business after hours, I noticed he hadn't eaten any of it. When I got home at 7pm, I tried to give him a can of Fancy Feast thinking that maybe he just didn't like the new food. Still, he didn't eat. I decided to give him one of the acid pills because maybe that was causing him to feel yucky. After I gave him that, we laid on the couch for awhile until my front desk clerk called at 8:30pm. She said that she was having chest pains and needed to go to the hospital so I rushed to the hotel so that she could leave. When I returned home at 10:00, I opened another can of Fancy Feast and he ate a little bit of it. As far as I can tell, this is the first thing he's eaten in two days. While I'm ecstatic that he at least ate some of it, I'm still worried sick so it looks like we may have to go back to the vet again tomorrow.

I'm off to bed for now, so I hope and pray that tomorrow when I wake up he will eat because I can't handle much more of this. He is my baby, and I'm a wreck! I know I need to think positive, but I have to tell you I'm having a really hard time with that right now.

Wow, I am amazed that they would use a human medicine on the cat. I hope he feels better soon and is backing to being frisky and playful.
You are feeling better I hope, been an odd summer this year. My son has had an odd allergic reaction to an unknown something this past week and it has been scary.
Hugs.
