Stock Market 101

Yesterday while at a business luncheon, I sat at a table with a number of financial analysts and the discussion was quite interesting. The speaker yesterday was Dr. Sean Snaith of UCF's Institute for Economic Competitiveness. If you don't know who he is, he is a nationally recognized forecaster, researcher and professor of economic developement. Much of the conversation at our table was about the workings of the stock market as well as predictions on when things might turn around. One thing that that was discussed quite alot was the effect that startups and IPO's have on the market. I recently heard about Liquid Scenarios which is a program that allows any user to open a licensed file of information of historical data as well as projections. Imagine seeing into the future of IPOs, with a simple interactive program that allows you to comment back and forth with a the use of a Facebook/Twitter application. With a Liquid Scenarios Viewer file all a founder, investor or other party has to do is click install, activate a license and then use “Back” and “Forward” buttons. This information allows the user to see deeper into an IPO or other transaction in ways even the IPO Company’s investment bankers or founding investors couldn’t do without spending tens of thousands of dollars.

Pretty cool, huh?

Well, if you want to know more I strongly urge you to check out Liquid Scenario Viewer. Hey, you never know, you might actually learn something.
