If you travel you need to know this...

Hotels and cruise ships have experienced a growth in bed bug incidents since 2004. Most people associate bed bugs with filthy conditions but this is not necessarily true. There have been incidents reported in 4 and 5 star hotels and they are just as susceptible to an infestation as a 2 or 3 star hotel. They are found as often in clean conditions as filthy conditions because they are attracted by exhaled carbon dioxide and not dirt, and feed off blood, not waste.

When I worked on the beach, the hotel that I was working at experienced a dramatic increase due to the number of people coming from the cruise lines. The hotel that I am at now luckily has not had to deal with the problem, but my staff is well trained to look for the signs so that we can catch it early if it happens. If you have bed bugs in your home or you have been somewhere that there has been an infestation, you need to have some kind of treatment to your home as well as a bed bug bites treatment.
