The Britney Spears Drama

While I was getting ready for work this morning, I heard on the news that there had been a standoff last night at Britney Spears home. I wasn't going to comment on this, but I actually feel sorry for this girl. They are now reporting that she had some sort of mental breakdown rather than the original reports of being under the influence of something. It just seems that in this case and so many others the paparazzi are making things worse. I watch the local Fox news channel and since the TMZ TV show started they have added a TMZ section to each newscast. Tonight the topic was the Britney drama. I have never seen anything so crazy. As the paramedics loaded her into the ambulance, there were tons of paparazzi around taking pictures from every angle. The news even went so far as to say that Britney appeared to be wearing handcuffs. As the doors were closed on the ambulance the photographers were seen beating on the windows and snapping pictures. Once the ambulance arrived at the hospital, they even ran alongside the ambulance barely allowing the vehicle to get through.

Are celebrities not entitled to any privacy anymore? It seems that every day these crazy photographers are chasing after stars, breaking all kinds of laws, and most definitely invading the privacy of the celebrities that they are pursuing. There are laws against giving out private information in hospitals and such, but there should also be some sort of law to protect these celebrities from this sort of rediculous behaviour. When Princess Diana died, it was reported that her car was being chased by the paparazzi however later it turned out that her driver had also been drinking. It really bothers me that the paparazzi seem to be oblivious to the law and they are constantly putting so many lives at risk. Something needs to be done before someone else is killed.
