This is a funny story. In today's Beacon, there is a picture of Oatie the Driving Dog. Apparently Oaties owner took him to Winn Dixie with him and left him in the car while he ran inside. Oatie apparently jumped in the driver's seat and took the car for a joy ride into a parked car at the nearby McDonald's. The car Oatie was driving was a Volvo station wagon with manual transmission, so all he did was somehow get the car in neutral and he was on his way. Luckily, no one was hurt and there was only minor damage so there were no charges pressed and no tickets issued.
