The Summer Of Me Weightloss Challenge is doing a collection of embarrassing workout stories, so here is mine. I have had quite a few workout mishaps in the past mostly because I don't work out that often and when I do I usually just do the treadmill. Well, on Monday I had to do a mystery shop at a local fitness club and I had to really work out and try more than just the treadmill. After working out on the treadmill for about 20 minutes I decided to try something different and try one of the lower body machines. The treadmills were located on a little platform so as I was going down the steps from the platform of course I tripped. Luckily I didn't fall but of course I had to look around to make sure that no-one saw me. So then I went to the leg machine where you squeeze your legs together. I stood there for a minute trying to figure out how to get on it because it looked really awkward and I am a fairly large girl. Somehow I finally got on it, and did 3-4 reps and decided that it was hurting my legs. I don't know if it was because my legs were too big or if it was that the machine was in the wrong position. I looked at the instructions and tried to figure out how to change it but I couldn't figure it out. I also tried to lower the resistance and couldn't figure that out either so I decided to give up. As I was trying to get off the thing my foot got stuck. It was really wedged in there so I tried to sit down again thinking that if I tried that maybe it would come out. After finally wiggling around for what seemed like forever, I was finally able to free myself and I walked as quickly as I could to the door. Unfortunately, the lower body machines were right across from the barbells so I know there were at least 3 guys that saw me plus countless other who were in the back part of the gym. I was so humiliated, but at least I got paid for it.

hahaha! that's funny! i hate it when that happens! for some reason, I get all embarrassed when i try a new machine and it is even worse if i try a new gym altogether because i have to get to know ALL new machines. i get all sweaty and red faced and embarrassed as people watch me try to figure something out. i am so self conscious at the gym!
Me too. I think that's the main reason why I stick to the treadmill. I am comfortable with that but everything else I really shy away from.
